Shipping Policy
Eggs are collected daily and selected for freshness and shell quality before shipment. Orders are shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays to avoid eggs sitting in post office hubs over weekends, using eggs collected as close to the shipping date as possible.
Each order is packed with great care. Eggs are individually wrapped and cushioned within a secure shipping box to help protect them during shipping. When available, extra eggs may be included to help offset the inherent risks of shipping hatching eggs.
To preserve the natural protective bloom, eggs are not washed, and minor dirt or bedding may be present.
Shipped hatching eggs always carry risk. Modern shipping equipment and handling procedures can expose eggs to impact, vibration, temperature fluctuations, and delays that are outside of our control.
Even when eggs arrive intact, these conditions can damage embryos before arrival. This may result in eggs that do not begin developing, start but stop early in incubation, and generally have reduced hatch rates.
Because of these unavoidable variables, we cannot guarantee hatch rates, development, or specific health outcomes. Hatch success depends heavily on carrier handling, incubation equipment, and individual incubation practices. For these reasons, there are no guarantees, refunds, or replacements based on hatch results.
Reviews should reflect packaging and shipping experience only, as incubation conditions after arrival are outside our control.
Eggs are produced by actively breeding birds and are fertile when they leave our farm. These are the same eggs used in our own breeding and incubation program.
However, fertility does not guarantee hatch success, particularly with shipped eggs.
Always allow shipped eggs to rest upright in a cool, dark place for 12-24 hours after arrival before setting.

breed conservation
Our focus is primarily on heritage & bantam breeds of waterfowl and chickens. Many of the birds on our farm are listed on the Livestock Conservatory Watch List. From the critically endangered Pomeranian goose to the recovering Polish chicken, our goal is helping others build foundation flocks of their own to be enjoyed for generations to come.
permaculture
Everything goes hand-in-hand… the geese eat down the tall, bristly grasses & weeds; the ducks dig up the roots as they dabble through the dirt & mud; the chickens till the soil behind the ducks, searching for scraps that they’ve left behind; the fertilized ground springs into life, lush and nutrient dense; the herbs (such as red clover, common plantain, yarrow, etc.) are collected, cleaned, dehydrated & used in our handcrafted blends; and the cycle continues.
